Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral position in the Embedded and Networked Systems (ENS) group at Delft University of Technology. TU Delft is a world-class university in engineering, located at the beautiful city of Delft.
Topic: The successful applicant will work at the nexus of AI/ML-based optimization algorithms and wireless networks in the context of the European project DAEMON. This is a large-scale research project focusing on Network Intelligence for Adaptive and Self-learning Mobile Networks, with industry partners such as Telefonica, Nokia Bell Labs, NEC Europe.
Environment: The position is in the ENS group, which is part of the Software Technology Department in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS), and will be hosted by Dr. G. Iosifidis. The researcher will join a very active, stimulating and diverse environment; and will have the opportunity to be involved in both theoretical (optimization algorithms) and experimental work (data-driven and/or testbeds), collaborate with top-notch industry labs and the recently launched Do-IoT lab (Prof. Fernando Kiupers), and co-supervise MSc and PhD students.
Candidate Profile: Applicants for this position should have the following:
PhD in Mathematics/OR, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Publications in first-tier networking and/or AI/ML conferences.
Excellent level of spoken and written English
Desirable: experience in wireless testbeds, network measurements, data analysis.

The Department of Software Technology is one of the leading European departments in research and academic education in computer science, employing over 150 people. ST is responsible for a large part of the curriculum of the bachelor’s and master’s programs in Computer Science as well as the master’s program in Embedded Systems. The inspiration for its research topics is largely derived from technical ICT problems in industry and society related to large-scale distributed processing, embedded systems, programming productivity, and web-based information analysis.
