PhD Opening in 6G Communication Networks and Edge AI
Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Networked Systems (NS) group, Delft University of Technology. TU Delft is a world-class university in engineering and technology, located at the beautiful city of Delft.
Topic: The successful applicant will work at the nexus of AI and 6G communication networks, and will participate in a newly-launched Dutch flagship project on 6G systems which includes top industry labs. This is a unique opportunity to master and develop new AI techniques tailored to communication and computing systems, and to follow a hybrid theory-experimental research approach.
Environment: The PhD position is in the NS group, which is part of the Software Technology Department in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS), and will be supervised primarily by Dr. G. Iosifidis. The PhD researcher will join a very active, stimulating and diverse environment; and will have the opportunity to be involved in both theoretical (AI, optimization, etc.) and experimental work (data-driven and testbeds) approaches.
Candidate Profile: Graduates applying for this position should have the following:
Strong motivation to tackle challenging research problems
B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Strong interest in optimization (priority) and/or testbeds; prior research experience and publications is a plus.
Excellent academic results (First-class honours or equivalent)
Very good level of spoken and written English

The Department of Software Technology is one of the leading European departments in research and academic education in computer science, employing over 150 people.
